Valentine's Day otherwise known as Tuesday

Happy day of love to all you lovers out there! I hope it's everything you dreamed of when you woke up this morning!

Seriously, I hope you got to spend it with whoever you wanted to whether it was a boyfriend, girlfriend, parent, best friend, dog or mouse. Whoever.

I feel so guilty that I have been a bad blogger lately. It's so easy to get out of the habit and then it just gets easier to put it off then its been days since you have done it.

When I first started blogging, I wouldn't blog for days or even weeks and it never really bothered me. Now that I have a good set of blog friends that I follow and comment on regularly and they comment and follow me back, I have been feeling especially guilty for not blogging. I have felt so out of the loop and I just read so many of your posts from previous days. If I didn't comment, don't assume I didn't read them! Just a little FYI!

I have been super stressed this week. Y'all, no matter how hard I try to stay ahead of the game on my school work, it still seems to pile up all at once. It's so awful. I try to NOT procrastinate then I end up feeling like one anyways... how does that even happen? Is that just me?

I have cried so much this week and I can't even tell you why. I mean I could probably speculate and I'm sure you could too so just use that little imagination!

School is just killer right now and I have GOT to keep on trucking and just suck it up and stop being a baby. It's ok, you can be brutally honest and give me a swift kick in the pants if you want.

Anyways, no worries for me and I hope to be back on my A-game by this time next week. I plan on getting all my crap together this week and catching up on everything I possibly can.

I can WILL handle all this craziness that is going on. Maybe not gracefully or beautifully and I may have a few zits on my face, but I will own school and I will graduate! All while blogging about it....

And if not, then that sucks. Have a fab week dolls! :)

Howdy!

Happy Monday, doll faces! While I am completely aware that Monday's are, in fact, not the happiest day of the week, at least you made it to see another day right!? It could be worse!

I am also aware that I fell off the blogger wagon this weekend. I worked all weekend and then hung out with some friends who I haven't had the chance to see a lot lately because of school, so needless to say, blogging wasn't a huge priority this weekend! SORRY, and please forgive me!

My week has a whole lotta nothing in store. I work and I go to class and then I work some more. I have a test and some other assignments due, but other than that I think it's gonna be a chill week.

Tonight, I had dinner with my married friends. I am actually friends with both of them and have known the hubby since I was about 11. I have known his wifey for a while now too, probably since high school. They got married in May and I just love them. We have become pretty close, us three, and we have a good time together,

Tonight at dinner, we decided this weekend we would plan a spontaneous trip down to Savannah! Nothing like a random trip planning session to end out the weekend, huh? We are leaving Saturday and just going down for the day and come back late Sunday. It's only about a 2 hour drive from where we live, so what they hay!

It should be a shit show good 'ole fashion time. I cannot wait. I never feel like the third wheel with them and we have this running joke that the wife and I are sisterwives and that we share the hubby...like the tv show..? Not funny...? Ok. I'll stop

Anyways, I'll be working hard tomorrow and trying to get a little studying in between helping customers that come into the store.

I should dip because I will be hating myself for staying up this late in about 7 hours since I can't paid for doing this...

Hope your weekend was fab and your Monday is even better. hopefully I will be back in full blogging force this week. Did anyone even miss me!?!

She just believes in dance...

So I try to keep this blog as light and fun as possible. I don't usually talk about serious issues that stir up controversy or drama. I just like to have a good time with this place and with you!

However, today I am bringing something different. I would like to say a couple of things before I start.

1. There won't be very many posts like this ever on this blog. I like my blog to be quirky and crazy just like me.
2. I don't want to impose anything on you that you don't feel comfortable with and this post is in n way meant to do that.
3. Whether you have the same opinions on this issue or not, let's be respectful and open-minded, as I know you all are!

With that being said, here we go. I'm sure that if any of you partake in news watching, a little or a lot, you have been seeing stuff about Ellen DeGeneres in the news. I think it's safe to assume that we all know she is gay and has a partner and also has kids. If you didn't know that, well...now you do.  Here's the story.

She was recently hired by JCPenney to be a spokesperson for their retail chain. Since word and ads got out, there has been a crazy amount of backlash. A group called One Million Moms has come out and began bashing her and the company and have accused the company of "jumping on the pro-gay bandwagon." They have been protesting and even boycotting the store in hopes that JCPenney will rethink their decision and fire her. I read online where one lady was quoted as saying something along these lines: "JCpenney is a traditional store and most of the people and families that shop here are also traditional. They may stop shopping here because they don't believe that being gay is ok." (Don't quote me exactly on that, but just know that it was basically that in a nutshell.)

It's no secret to anyone that I really love Ellen as a person, advocate, and even talk show host. She has been around for a good while now and her show was gotten excellent ratings despite her sexuality. She never uses her show as a platform to preach about equal rights for gay people. She simply does a talk show and a rather good one, might I add. When she got wind of this madness and the potential of her losing her position at the company, she addressed it on her show.

"Normally I try not to pay attention to my haters, but this time I'd like to talk about it because my haters are my motivators."

"First of all, being gay or pro-gay isn't a bandwagon. You don't get a free ride anywhere. There's no music. And occasionally we'll sing 'We Are Family' but that's about it."

"I want to be clear. ... I stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you want to be treated, and helping people in need. To me those are traditional values, and that's what I stand for."

She is taking a stand and using her show to let people know where she stands on this issue. Luckily, for now, JCPenney is sticking by their decision and they have no thoughts about letting her go.

This really burns my biscuits. I'm not an avid church goer. I can't quote the Bible. I can't argue and use verses to back it up, but I do know that this is wrong. Doesn't the Bible teach tolerance and love for others? Aren't we supposed to love all people and embrace them and pray for them? Maybe I've been reading and learning things from a different Bible all these years, but if the Bible these people read from tells us to hate people who are gay and put them on a blacklist so they are incapable of living their lives like we all do daily, they can keep it. I'll stick with my own Bible.

I was raised in Georgia, a state that falls in the Bible belt and around here we are all Southern Baptists. I was taught good morals, values and to have compassion for everyone no matter what and that's what I try to do everyday. Do I fail sometimes? Of course, I'm human and that's just something that happens. But I won't use the Bible to justify plain hatred for no reason at all. I just won't do it.

Sure, I may be biased because I love Ellen and her show. But have you ever watched it? She doesn't pick and choose the people she helps daily based on their skin color, religious preference, class, or sexuality and I would hope that others wouldn't do that either. To me, this group is full of a bunch of ignorant, selfish people who are so unhappy with themselves that they need to stir up trouble to feel accomplished. I have no respect for them.

I dream of a world where people can do what they want and be who they want without having their intentions or motives questioned. If Ellen wants to be gay, then, dang it be gay. If she woke up tomorrow and wanted to be a stripper, then that's her decision. How does her doing ads for a company affect us in any way, shape or form? It doesn't.

I think we need to realize that humans are humans and there are far worse things happening in the world than being gay. If they want to start a movement, how about focus on something that matters like homelessness or sex trafficking of young girls. They could do a million other things that would be better and more influential. This is just a witch hunt to prove something and it's STUPID.

Being gay is not a handicap. It's not an end all. It's not a deal breaker. It's not something that other things should depend on. It's not your business or mine. You can't catch gay by watching her on TV no more than you can catch cancer by standing next to someone who has it.

I'm not sure what is right or what is wrong. It's not my choice to decide that. I don't have the power to control someone else's life like they are trying to do. I don't know if they have checked lately, but they aren't God.
Ellen, if you read this, YOU GO GIRL. I hope you laugh at those fakes all the way to the bank, honey!

If you're still reading this long, thank you. This concludes the soap-box portion for the day!

Have a fab weekend, dolls!

Thanks, Ellen, for being a role model and showing us all that being gay doesn't mean your life is over. That you can still do whatever you want to do. If you have haters, you are doing something right!

It's Ok...and a mini rant session

I feel like all I have done this week, blogging wise, is link-ups. Please don't hate me for not having any creative juices flowing or having the time to develop a thoughtful post. If you were here, this would be the part I would be on my knees pleading for you not to HATE me.

Maybe.

And here we go....

I feel like this week has just been crazy. I haven't even had much going on, but its been wild to say the least. I have this HUGE paper to write to graduate. Basically, my whole college career is riding on this not-so-small 20 page paper. I have yet to nail down a topic and it has me stressed.

I mean, if I don't do this and do it well, I might as well kiss that cap and gown goodbye and not plan on buying a new outfit for graduation because I will be retaking it over in the Fall and that is NOT an option.

It's stressing me out because its kind of a big deal, right? I have to lead a class discussion within the next few weeks and find a topic related to my paper topic.
THE PROBLEM: I have no paper topic.

STRESS CASE LIKE WHOA!

I will try to have a better plan for my posts in the future, but I think my cray cray life makes my followers feel better about their lives right?! :)

Let's link up for a quick dose of It's Ok... with Neely

it's ok...

that I failed my first Spanish test. The first test in any class is always lower right? And we have 4 more so I'm totally good.

that I didn't turn the TV on at all last night when I got home at 8:30. No TV Wednesday..hmm?

that I have bought myself nothing in so long. I NEED retail therapy in my life! Tomorrow, I may fall off that lovely wagon...

that I put my PJ pants on backwards last night when I got home. I'm 23 so there's really no excuse for that

that I stayed up super late Tuesday night because 3 of my favorite shows came on and I HAD to watch all of them. One was a premiere, one was Teen Mom and I had to see what happened with the big D with Leah and Corey and of course, Dance Moms...the things we do for our reality shows..

that I sleep with the fan on EVERY night even if it's freezing outside. Love being snuggled up in my bed when its cold

that I have met some great blogger friends and I am starting to develop friendships with them, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong, you know who you are!

that I'm skipping my colleges homecoming festivities. I just don't care to participate in it. Third Eye Blind is the band we have coming and I honestly know maybe 2 songs..plus I have to work early Friday. Beauty sleep and Jersey Shore for this girl

What you are OK with today?

HAPPY HAPPY ALMOST WEEKEND!!! eeeekkkk!

Oh, How Pinteresting: Words Edition

Um, this is my life. And don't sit there and be all "oh wow what an idiot" because I KNOW you do the same thing. Don't judge me......judgers.

via
I mean, at least he's keeping it real. Sometimes I feel like this about people.

It definitely doesn't bother me that I'm generally always right. What about you ladies? It would suck to always be wrong, right? Good thing that's impossible unless you possess the male anatomy...OR you are Ryan Reynolds.

It's soooo true. I mean, not to be all judgemental, but I would not last a second in a cell who listen to that hardcore rap. I would probably just cry in the corner like a little girl. Put this thing in with some country music lovers, puhhhlease and we 'gone have us a hoedown! I hope they let us wear cowboy boots to jail.

I'm no good at math, but this equation is so simple, even I can solve it.

If only this weren't so true. Facebook is boring to me these days! What about you?

So true yet so pathetic. If I absorbed half as much info I need to learn for school as I absorb about these cray crays, I would have all A's and would have graduated college after a year. Oh well.

Sometimes and Always

It's day two of the week and so far so good.

I successfully completed a paper last night BEFORE RHOBH came on at 9.

I thought I would link up today with Megan at Mackey Madness for a little 'Sometimes and Always!'

Sometimes I say I will not get on pinterest until all my homework and chores are done
Always I end up getting on and putting stuff off until I am exhausted and just want to sleep

Sometimes I say that I won't blow my budget when I buy someone a gift
Always I blow my budget when I buy someone a gift

Sometimes I lose all motivation for blogging
Always I get sweet/funny comments that make me want to blog

Sometimes I say I am going to get to school early enough to relax and read a little for class
Always I snooze the alarm and end up running to class before it starts

Sometimes I say I'm going to shave my legs
Always I don't.

Sometimes I say I'm going to clean out my closet
Always I try to justify every single piece of clothing even if I haven't worn it in months. Hoarder much?

Sometimes I skip songs I kinda like kinda don't like on Pandora
Always I end up regretting it when I'm out of skips because a song I REALLY hate comes on and I can't skip.

Sometimes I make a point to get up and fix my hair
(almost) Always I end up letting it air dry be wavy/frizzy
